Thank you for great interest to our AGRIBALKAN 2023 congress. There is a worldwide participation from 25 countries over 475 papers contributed by over 1100 authors. 

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for your huge interest in our AGRIBALKAN Congress. I would like to give you a brief information about our event. 

We will organize our conference in Trakya University Balkan Congress Center. It is so close to Edirne bus station but it is a bit far away from the city center (6-7 km). There are always city public midi buses coming to Universite (calling fakülte).

When you come from Istanbul airport there is a direct bus from the airport under public transport areas. The company name is İstanbul Seyahat and is at the end of the right side about 150 - 200 m walking. You have to say the Edirne bus. There is generally normally no need to take a ticket before your flight arriving time is not clear.

08.30, 12:00, 14:30,  16:30,   18:30,   21:00,   23:59

However, you could also come from Istanbul Esenler bus station every hour by bus to Edirne, if you do not wait for airport buses or when you stay in Istanbul in previous days.

On the other hand, the updated program is announced at the web site. Free lunches will be available at lunch times consisting of special Turkish cuisine and Edirne local tastes.

For online participants, the links are below and so you could reach all sessions via Microsoft Teams. You have to open and share your ppt presentation for your time. Our program is so intensive and Please present about 10 min then leave the following session presenters.

 For the posters, they will exhibit  in e poster pano also on the internet which is given the links at the web site. we will give the link for each number poster as well. However, there will be many posters in each pano turning and changing automatically every 20 seconds.

The online poster discussion will be also available for poster participants at our web site online links and please send any question to poster owner at the chat by Microsoft Teams then they could answer later when they read. Therefore, there will be no specific poster presentation for each poster.

The congress gala dinner will be on Wednesday evening at Nova Restaurant including dancing and entertainment. The alcoholic drinks are not included but they are available at the restaurant so you could order at your own expense. On the other hand, if you come with your family and accompanying person, you have to pay for them both for dinner and also for lunch. Please also register for gala dinner during the registration.

For being a green congress, as much less plastic and paper will be used and abstract book, will be sent to you by e-mail during the congress and will be available at our web site. Full proceeding book will be available after the congress again at our conference web site.

Registration will start on Tuesday afternoon and also on Wednesday morning.

AGRIBALKAN 2023 will be held on September 20-23, 2023 at the Balkan Congress Center, Edirne, Turkey. The format of the congress will be hybrid one, with both, in-person and virtual participation. 

5th BALKAN AGRICULTURAL CONGRESS will be organized by Trakya University and Balkan Seed Association with support of Trakya Universities’ Union, Balkan Universities Association, Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University (Turkey), Çanakkale Onsekizmart University (Turkey), Uludag University (Turkey), Agricultural University of Plovdiv (Bulgaria), Trakia University, Stara Zagora (Bulgaria), Democritus University of Thrace (Greece), Bulgarian Agricultural Academy (Bulgaria) and Romanian Academy (Romania) with contribution of other Balkan Institutions.

The first AGRIBALKAN Congress was organized in 2014, in Edirne, Turkey, with over than 700 participants. In 2021, due to pandemic limitation, the third Congress was organized as virtual event, in which took part more than 40 countries, 1000 authors, and more than 400 papers were submitted. In 2022, the fourth Congress, there was a worldwide participation from 41 countries over 300 papers contributed by over 700 authors.

Our congress is a premier international science, technology and business forum focusing on Agriculture. The technical sessions will highlight keynote and invited speakers and volunteer oral and poster presentations.

With care for our nature and environment, we aim to make the Congress green one, using as little as possible paper. Abstract book will be published as electronic book and will be distributed to the participants on flash memory stick as well as by e-mail for online participants. All the posters should be prepared in electronic form and submited via the conference web page. The e-posters will be presented in electronical poster boards, in the Congress center, as well as in online e-poster section in the Congress web page.

Each participant could submit up to two papers with one paid participation fee.

The congress is going to be an international event and as such it   meets the criteria of Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK) both for Associated Professor and for  Academic Promotions for Turkish academicians. 

Upon your request, the full papers will be published in Full Paper Congress Proceeding Book or International Indexed Scientific Journals based on your preferences.

Our Congress Abstract and Full paper Proceeding Book will be published in CAB Abstracts after the congress.

The virtual participants, with paid conference fee, will be able to access all the presentation talks in each session, as well as to visit the virtual poster hall via preliminary provided participant ID and codes. All virtual participants will receive participation certificates and a copy of Conference Abstract and Proceedings Book, which will be send as PDF file via e-mail.

The attendees will have ample opportunities for learning, reconnecting, engaging and networking with colleagues from academia and industry as well as meeting with various exhibitors.

The official language of the conference is English but Turkish and French are acceptable for presentations. However, please keep in mind that all the submitted abstracts and full papers must be in English only.
